Ok, with the updated question... no, you really shouldn't ever power a permanently mounted light fixture from an extension cord inside a dwelling. It's acceptable in a utility outbuilding or agricultural building, but not inside a dwelling - there's too much inherent risk of an occupant (might not be you) damaging the extension cord and starting a house fire, resulting in the loss of many lives.
Your best bet would be to run a short section of WireMold (or similar brand) surface-mount conduit from an outlet box to a box on the ceiling, and hardwire the tracklights from that ceiling box.
All lamps have a size designation which is stated in eights of an inch (1/8").
That particular lamp will most likely not fit in your fixture if it is designed to take a standard A-lamp. That is an R30 size lamp which is 3-3/4" wide. An R20 style lamp (2-1/2" wide) would be more in line size wise with an A-lamp, which is actually an A-19.

There is nothing wrong with a lamp having an internal DC power supply.
There is also nothing wrong with embedding a DC power supply in a junction box, provided there is a separator between mains AC voltage and DC. For instance many furnace transformers are packaged as the lid to a standard junction box, or to fit in a standard knockout, with the AC power inside and the DC power outside. I am unaware of any 12V LED power supplies in those packages, but I haven't really looked.
