Covering Up Some Old Wall Art

paintpaint-removalpaintingrepaintingwallpaper

We've got some wall art painted on to our walls with a paint brush that we'd like to cover up, but we'd like to be able to cover it up in a way that won't ruin the integrity of it, so that if anyone wants it back in the future, we can still have it there. That means painting over it isn't an option.

Are there any ways to wallpaper it such that the wallpaper will sit on top of the art and can be taken down at some point in the future?

Thanks.

I would put a wood frame around/over it then cover the frame with a hardboard then decorate that.

Many times that an internal framed wall has been removed to find things behind.
