I’ve got a 20’x12’ vaulted ceiling, 4/12 pitch that I want to install resilient channel on to reduce the risk of cracking; sound damping is not important. Trusses are just plain 2×6’s in the roof. Would I install the resilient channel perpendicular or parallel to the trusses, and subsequently what direction would I install my sheeting in relation to the RC? I haven’t been able to find any good info online or in manufacturers install specs in relation to vaulted ceilings. Thank you.

In the sound studios where I work, we've had several rooms added using RC for acoustic dampening. The drywall is hung in the same orientation as the wall studs, but the pattern for screws holding the drywall is done differently to attach to the RC channel. I'll include an image showing the method I am most familiar with:
There are many types of anchors. I suspect you used the basic cheap plastic plugs. I'd look to the various expanding or toggling types and simply use the same holes.
Otherwise, get some setting type joint compound and press it in firmly. Knife it off and allow it to cure thoroughly before a light sanding.
