Electrical – Wiring a ceiling fan that has two 2-way switches to a universal ceiling fan wall control

ceiling-fanelectrical

I want to wire my ceiling fan to a ceiling fan wall control. The problem is that the location where I am putting it is controlled by two 2-way switches. I need to figure out the correct wiring method so I can get the new control to control both the lights and the fan speed.

If I understand correctly, you have a fan control, that controls both the light and fan. For the existing switches you will be eliminating one of them. The new switch should have a wire for the light (red/blue), fan (red/blue), a single line-in (power source), neutral (generally white) and ground (green or similar). You will eliminate 1 line-in (you had 2, 1 per switch) as you now only need 1 for the new switch. If they are pig-tailed it makes it easy to remove 1. The switch itself should also have the wiring diagram as well which will help. What I just gave is a general. Hopefully it'll help get you going in the direction needed.
