I recently purchased an Orbit Model # 57894, and I'm trying to use it with these Rainbird Valves.
I've got it all setup and connected, however it won't turn on the sprinklers on schedule or on manual mode. Are these valves incompatible with this timer?
it should work. find out what kind of rainbird valves you have, then look online to see what their voltage/current requirements are. you have to match voltages between the timer, and the timer must provide at least as much current as the valve require.
I'm not sure who the idiot was who put this down that hole, but it was pretty firmly lodged in there. I cut off a bit more of the PVC and was able to get my trusty pry bar in the notch and turn it. After about three quarters of a turn the stupid thing came out. And sure enough, there was a regular stop and waste down there underneath whatever the heck this is.

Both the Timer and the Valves are designed for 24 VAC operation which is the standard voltage for sprinkler equipment so they should be compatible. You need to check with a voltmeter that the Timer is outputting the proper voltage and that it is present at the valves.
