We have a Maytag Dryer Model # LDG9806AAE in our rental property. Our tenant said it stopped working so I checked it out today. When I pressed the "power" button. I hear a buzzing sound but the drum doesn't tumble. Any suggestions for investigating before I call an appliance expert come and fix it? Are there belts? or a motor needs to be replaced? Thanks in advance.

The "click" is the exact same behavior that I had last month - caused by a blown heating element. It was difficult for me to remove and replace, but easy enough to find both ends (and I'm sure this varies based on your model) and do a continuity test on it. Mine didn't conduct, so it was clear that was the problem.
If anyone else has this problem, don't try to take the dryer apart!
I found it's much easier - stick your head in the dryer, and get a good look at the Outlet Grill (Bulkhead Part #32). (If the hyperlink breaks, the Outlet Grill is the part that holds the lint filter). Lint covers up recessed screws on the grill that you need to remove.
Once you get the Outlet Grill off, you have plenty of space to get into the lint duct and clear it out.

We had this problem and it turned out to be the thermal fuse. The thermal fuse helps prevent a dryer fire by shutting off power to the dryer if it gets too hot. If the clothes dryer will not start, examine this fuse. This is the most typical part to fail when the dryer won't work.
