I'm trying to replace the cartridge in a dripping sink, and I'm having trouble at the second step.
I have spent 20 minutes struggling with these handles, and I can't figure it out.
There is no screw that I can find.
I have put all my weight into lifting them off vertically.
I have pried and pried at the bottom cone-part to twist it off.
Nothing seems to work.
The next step secret to getting more of this faucet apart are the two slots cut across the cupped part. See the arrows in the following picture.
It looks to me as that the cupped part is threaded down inside the larger diameter part that sticks up from the hole in the sink. There is probably a special tool used to engage these slots to thread the part out. It may be possible to lay a piece of metal bar stock across these slots as a tool. If you do that make sure that it has nice square corners.
You need to remove the piece of bell shaped trim surrounding the cartridge. There is very likely a large nut under there. To avoid scratching i usually wrap the lowest part of this trim with 3-4 winds of masking tape, then undo with water pump pliers. These spread the load nicely. You maybe lucky and get the leaky cartridge first, if not at least you know how to do it,so the next one will be easier.

I had similar fixture and found the part attached to the top of the sink unscrewed when turned counterclockwise. You might need to apply a bit of pressure to turn it if it has never been removed before. Try a vise grip pliers with several layers of folded leather to protect the chrome finish.
