My hall bath has a partially enclosed tub. I have researched an L-shaped shower curtain rod and know that they exist, however, I would like the longer part of the "L" to be curved to allow for more room in the tub when taking a shower. Can I curve the longer portion myself successfully and easily without harming the curtain rod?

You can buy brackets like this one that attach to the walls. You still use a spring loaded rod, but the ends go into the brackets and the brackets keep the rod from falling.
Typically the brackets are attached to the wall with standard drywall anchors.
I once built a bath floor with white cement, and then covered it with sikatop-107 seal. it was an outdoor shower but it will fit also for an indoor one. here is a link to an article i wrote about it in my website. sorry, it's in Hebrew - but you still can look at the photos :)
you can build a structure out of salvage materials, plaster a thick layer of cement on it, and finish it with the sikatop-107 seal.

Perhaps.
It depends on how brittle/ductile the rod is. Its likely steel, which has a wide range of properties. There may be finish cracking issues. The wider the radius, the more likely the success.
I would experiment on a similar but simpler rod. The methods I suggested here would be the least expensive tooling.
