I’ve made a video of the issue.
I have a craftsman garage door mechanism and can open the garage door with the remote but unable to close my garage door via the remote. I can do both the tasks via the wall button.
I got the house recently and the garage has been closed for six years. Is there something wrong I am doing here?

It sounds like the controller needs to be reset and the remotes reprogrammed. Usually this requires physical access to the opener, but if you have a hardwired remote it might be possible to pair it via the keypad. Check the manual for your opener.
But back to the problem of how to open it. If the garage does not have an alternative access there should be a manual cable release which disconnects the door from the opener chain so that you can manually open it. Often this is in the form of a small key near your garage door. With the key you can open the lock and pull the manual release.

If the installation was done correctly, you have one of these you just need to find it. If you don't have the key a locksmith should be able to open it for you.
If you do not have a manual release then I think you will have to resort to breaking a window.
Your best bet is to call Genie customer service. They will be able to confirm if the keypad is truly compatible with your exact model opener. They can walk you through all possible troubleshooting steps while on the phone, and what the next step would be if they can't resolve your problem. The one time I called them the time on hold was minimal and I was not endlessly transferred around to find the right person.

If you watch the back of the opener starting at around :54 in the video, you'll notice that the LED indicator flashes 4 times. For Craftsman openers, this is almost always the code for an issue with the interrupt sensors. Make sure that they are clean and getting power (no wire breaks, etc.), and then follow the instructions in the owners manual for aligning them. If you don't have a copy of the manual, get the model number off of the opener and check to see if they have a .pdf at the manufacturer's website (www.searspartsdirect.com).
