Learn English – Leave the door open vs Leave the door opened

difference

Is there any subtle difference between:

  • We need to carry in some stuff so open the door and leave it open.
  • We need to carry in some stuff so open the door and leave it opened.

I mean "leave it like that (in that state)".

Judging from the comments you seem to understand the subtle difference in nuance between the two requests. "Leave something open" implies keeping it in a particular state while "Leave something opened" implies keeping it in the state that exists as the result of some action. There is a slight difference in focus between the window itself, and the window plus whoever (or whatever) opened it.

However there is little if any difference in meaning, since the desired end result -- the open window -- is the same.
