What do we call glasses with thick lenses that people use when they are very near-sighted? Here is a picture of what I mean:

The new, thin style of television is often called a flat screen television. People might also call it a plasma television or an LCD television. Plasma and LCD are two different technologies. Flat screen refers to either type.
The thick television is a CRT television. CRT stands for cathode ray tube. People will call it an old-style television more often, though.
