When someone prefer to study alone, on his own, without school, I am tempted to use "self-student". But this word apparently doesnt exist.
Is there better way how to express this in one word?

I wish to express that someone is good self-student. For example "Peter is a good self-student"
How about the person is an Athlete.

I would go with disillusionment.
A feeling of disappointment, akin to depression, arising from the realization that something is not what it was expected or believed to be, possibly accompanied by philosophical angst from having one's beliefs challenged.
