Learn English – “Year olds” or “year-olds”

grammarhyphenation

I am writing about some leadership stuff, and I am trying to say that I am leading the 14-15 year old boys. How do I correctly use year-olds as in, "I was the adviser to the 14-15 year-olds."

Thanks in advance

Use a suspended hyphen:

I was an advisor to the 14- and 15-year-olds.
