Solidity – Disable Token Transfer Other Than Freezing for ERC-20 Token

erc-20solidity

Let's say I want to disable the transfers of my token, what type of contract/codes snippet would i need to put in?

I mean there is a freeze function, but that would require freezing each token holder individually…

I want to just enable/disable the transfer function…

Thank you in advance.

You can do something similar; just define a global state for your token and provide a function to use to enable/disable the transfer:

bool isEnabled;

function enableToken() onlyOwner public {
  isEnabled = true;
}

function disableToken() onlyOwner public {
  isEnabled = false;
}

or just with one function

function setTokenStatus(bool _status) onlyOwner public {
    isEnabled = _status;
}

then just set the default value in your constructor

function MyAdvancedToken(
    uint256 initialSupply,
    string tokenName,
    string tokenSymbol
) TokenERC20(initialSupply, tokenName, tokenSymbol) public {
    isEnabled = true;
}

and eventually check the flag in your _transfer function

require (isEnabled);
