Can’t see own playermodel in thirdperson. Garry’s Mod

Long story short, I subscribed to the playermodel "BlackRockShooter" on steam workshop, now I want to see how it looks when I enable third person by doing "sv_cheats 1" followed by "thirdperson".

When I manage to enable thirdperson I only see the man with the white gas mask and suit. I have clicked C and selected the BlackRockShooter player model, but it still won't show. How do I make it show? If it's possible at all.

(Other playermodels won't show either, stuck on the white man)

After you change your player model into a different one, you have to usually suicide for the game to apply your changes. (Easiest way would be to write "kill" into the console)

Maybe I found something around (and your idea is awesome, actually)

In your GMOD installation you should see a folder like this: lua/autorun/server/

Create your LUA script (noguns.lua) with a text editor and paste this in:

function StripAndGive(ply) 
    ply:StripWeapons() 
    ply:Give("weapon_physcannon") 
    ply:Give("weapon_gravgun") 
    ply:Give("gmod_toolgun") 
    return true 
end 
hook.Add("PlayerLoadout", "StripAndGive", StripAndGive)

After you save the script, move it in the above folder. The source is this thread and it's 4 years old. So this may not be working properly (or at all) but comes with a nice scripting guide.

Garry’s Mod Singleplayer won’t load

Have you tried clearing your local cache from gmod? Sometimes a corrupted file or virused file will cause a game crash. Also have you checked any extra mods/other games linked to Gmod such as CS:S and HL2:DM for errors/corruption? Could be that a file is corrupt or damaged.
