Is there a way to easily recognize party members during a match? I do not mean team members, but members I started a group with ingame. It's hard to spot them visually amongst the other team members, so it would be nice to either be able to always show player names, without pointing on them, or otherwise highlight group members.
Is anything possible in this regard?

There are two methods, you can open up the console in game and type "connect 127.0.0.1:27015" where 127.0.0.1:27015 is your IP address and port number. You have to have the console enabled for this option to work. Usually it's by hitting escape to bring you to the menu and then pressing the tilde (~) key.
Or you can add the server to favourites from in game or out of game through steam. You do this by bringing up the server window, and clicking on the Add A Server button and it will ask you to add the server address to the window and then it will always be there!
That's actually a setting in game related to where you want to draw viewmodels.
If you click on Game Options, scroll down to Item Options, and mouse over the Viewmodel Position, you get three choices, Desktop, Couch and Classic.
Each puts the viewmodel in a different place, making inspecting the weapons a little different. The differences between each setting:
- Classic
- Desktop
- Couch
To get a camera view from far away, you'll want to have the Classic option selected. From what your picture looks like, you have it on Desktop, you'll want to switch to Classic viewmodels.

No, the game doesn't have any support for showing party members in any special way during matches. If they are on your friends list they will show up when you shift - tab as friends in the server, but not specially in the game itself.
