It's as if the other alternatives that the mystic gives me are basically the same.
Is it possible to add sockets to rings or amulet through easier ways?
I have done this like 10-20 times per ring and wasted so many imperial ruby gems. I simply don't get sockets.
Am I missing something? Should I keep trying.
According to Blizzard, the Artisan cannot add sockets, and the game guide is erroneous (to be updated in the future):
Artisans cannot add sockets to items. That information about the jeweler in the game guide of our website is erroneous and we're in the process of updating it.
Socketing was a feature that was in the game very early on, but ultimately it didn't end up enhancing the play experience as we had hoped.
You have to send items purchased from the auction house to your stash explicitly. This extra step is so you can purchase things you don't actually have space in your stash for, it lets you queue up to 50 things in the auction house "outside" of the game.
You do so from the left side of the Completed tab.
Select the item purchased, then hit "Send To Stash".
Pictured here is sending gold from the sale of an item, but the same system applies to buying items.
It doesn't really make sense that you have to send gold to the stash IMO, but whatever.

You can check whether a socket is a valid enchantment property by clicking the question mark next to the property you are enchanting, which will show a list of all possible properties and their potential rolls. As far as I know, Blizzard has not released a formula explaining how each possible roll is weighted - it may be that each unique property has an equal chance of rolling, and if chosen it is then rolled for a number, or it may be that some properties are weighted higher than others. The only thing that we know for sure is that if a property is on the list of possible properties, it has a nonzero chance of being selected when the item is enchanted.
