I've looked at the Terraria official site, wiki, and many forums and see that XBox and Playstation support 4 player split-screen, but it is unclear if the Nintendo Switch supports 2 or 4 player split-screen.
Can anyone that owns this game on Nintendo Switch confirm if 4 player split-screen is possible? Would love to play with my kids. Thanks!
Yes, you can play Ultra Street Fighter 2 on the same Nintendo Switch console. For this, you'll have to connect your Nintendo Switch console to a TV. Playing in TV mode will allow you to connect USB controllers to play the game. You can also use left and right JoyCons for this. For Local Mode multiplayer, your friend should have his own Nintendo Switch console. You can get some more info on IGN's website or you can watch a video here on YouTube about how you can do it.
As of date, it's not possible to have multiplayer session just for local party.
However, it has party option which allows to play online multiplayer with your friends (as like you, your friends and bunch of other folks on the same server). You can see party option in bottom right corner:
As for accounts, on Nintendo game store's Doom page it is listed that:
Nintendo Account required. Online features will be free until the Nintendo Switch Online Service launches in 2018
So I think all players need copy of game and Online Service subscription.

It only supports up to 2 players for split-screen multiplayer.
