Where can I find the default Dota 2 config.cfg file? Also, is my current config.cfg file identical to the default one when I first installed the game, or is it changed based on what settings I've changed in the in-game menu? I've heard people say that no matter what you change, changes are temporary, just for that session and they are all gone/back to default once you close the game. Question is what is the default, how can I see what the default is? And where is it stored? Hopefully I've made myself clear.

Ok! I figured it out myself. For those having a similar problem, here is what I did
Stage 1
- Downloaded MPQMaster
- Opened DotA 6.77 map with MPQMaster
- Deleted War3mapMap.blp file
- Imported the Dota 2 War3mapMap.blp file
- Hit Operations->Compact(Flush)
Stage 2
- Downloaded WinMPQ
- Opened the newly modified DotA 6.77 map
- Hit Compact->Yes->Yes
That's it. The second stage is to reduce the filesize and bring it down to under 8MB
To access all of the controls and lots of other settings for DOTA 2, click the button that has a picture of a gear. This button is located in the top left hand corner of the screen.
You can also access and modify these settings while you are in game by clicking a button to go to the main DOTA 2 menu (located at the top left hand corner of the screen) which will then display the Gear button (screenshots included below).
If you want to test out some of the controls or try out new keybindings or some of the hotkeys I would suggest you start up a practice game against bots and then try reconfiguring / practising the new controls.
I think the default DOTA 2 keys are ok to start out with playing, but once you start getting into the game, you will definitely want to customize the keybindings. I think Decency gives a good starting point but please remember, that everyone's keybindings DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE SAME. The keybindings you choose should work for you and not necessarily for anyone else.

I think I'm sure I know what you're talking about. First off head to: Steam\steamapps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\cfg You might already know that but there's your config.cfg
Your current config.cfg will be altered by your settings ingame though.
Keep in mind that most of the settings altered by your autoexec.cfg file or even the temporary settings done via ingame menu will be set back to default if you delete your config.cfg and restart the game.
Again, it's "most of your settings" as the keybinds will prevail thanks to the Steam Cloud.
