I'm looking at playing a Slayer in the coming Open Beta, and I was hoping for some feedback from people who had played more than I have in the Closed Beta, about how the racial abilities synergize with the Slayer class. I understand how all the racials work, I'm more interested in the intersection between said abilities and the game play style of the Slayer class. Specifically I care about PvP (though, other domains are important to me).
How do the Races synergize with the Slayer class

It looks like the monster has a limitied "memory" of last players' actions (size unknown). Most recent action removes the oldest one from the memory.
Some actions generate a lot of threat: taunts, massive damage, especially criticals, heals. If the player's threat accumulated from most recent actions is bigger than any other player's in the group, he gets aggro. That's why tank needs to constantly generate new threat. And that's why all you need to do to lose aggro is to run away for a while and let others generate even a little threat and push out your actions from the monster's memory. The more attacks hit monster in a meanwhile, the faster aggro will get back to the tank. This is the reason for supporters to use the regular attacks between threat-generating heals.
The starting island is a bit different from regular leveling so don't mind it.
Regular quests (yellow exclamation mark) and most story quests (red) can be done in a party. If you are in the same party (not a raid!) and sufficiently close to each other (maximum 30m iirc), progress (kills, gathering, using objects) will count for both of you.
Some specific quests are solo instances, meaning you must enter alone, usually through a portal. Obviously you cannot do these together. Vanguard requests, (a second quest system you'll unlock soon) can be done in a party too, though the progress is "round-robin" for the BAM ones, meaning you need to do (# of players in party) x (quest requirement).
Some specific gathering quests require crafting materials (such as plants, ore, energy). They don't count as shared because the items are actual items, and not just a quest counter.
Dungeons are no different. As long as you both have the quest, you can do it together.

In general, the racial skills in TERA aren't meant to be super-critical in your choice of race.
That being said...
None of the other races synergize very well.
In the end, I'd choose an aman or a castanic. If you're going to focus exclusively on PvP or PvP is all you will do end-game, then Human is not a bad choice either.
