I've begrudged some of the choices I've made in regards to ability choices while progressing through the Witcher 2, and now that I've reached Act 3, I've heard rumors that some sort of "secret quest" will allow me to reassign all my abilities from scratch.
Are there any truths to these rumors? If so, how do I accomplish this?
As sjohnston stated, if you manage to stun an opponent, you will be able to perform a so-called finisher move on him.
The probability of landing a finisher move depends on the chance of causing a critical effect, in this case, stunning.
You can view your chances of causing critical effects in the character panel (enter meditation and select "Character" from the radial menu)
The odds can be raised by getting or improving the appropriate skills, acquiring new mutations, drinking potions and using oils.
These abilities are gained by performing specific actions, but they're not revealed to you until after you've done them. Some examples:
Some of these are possible to miss, so it pays to be an explorer and a completionist.

Yes you can,"From a Bygone Era" will work,but it is completly messed quest.I completed it by pure coincidence.
