My Nintendo Switch can't connect to the internet. Other devices are connected fine and the Switch is connected to my WiFi, however the Switch won't connect to the internet. Nintendo's network status page says all services are up.
I'd like to restart my Switch, but can't find anyway to do it.
How do I restart my Switch?
This is a known design flaw which is only effecting early models of the Switch.
It's something to do with electrical shielding (or something technical).
First try these steps to make sure you are using the Joy Con correctly

If that didn't work, talk to Nintendo and they will "fix your problem for free" - which means you send in your joy con and they fix it and send it back. This can take up to 2 weeks.

This was a well known issue that was repeatedly reported to Nintendo on their official forums among other places and a variety of fixes have been released targeting the problem.
The problem was specific to when using the Nintendo Switch plugged into a monitor rather than a television and does not specifically impact monitors with non-16:9 resolutions as many of the monitors reported were 1920x1080 panels.
The latest version of the system software should have resolved most of the issues, if not you might want to try a different HDMI cable as many people who experienced the problem at the time found that in some instances simply using a different cable was enough (although some people ended up using an adaptor from HDMI to DVI or VGA to resolve their issues).

Holding the power button (located on the top of the Switch) opens a menu that gives you the option to power the system off entirely.
To answer the problem, rather than the question though: I had a similar issue with my wi-fi not long ago. Rather than powering the system off and on again, I found it was enough to cycle the network adapter by putting the system in Airplane mode and then taking it out, which is in the same home button menu as the sleep option.
