Is Edda the beggar supposed to take things

In Riften I dropped some old armour on the floor by mistake on the outside of the low wall around the market and the beggar Edda came round and asked if I didn’t want it could she have it. I said she could have it, but she didn’t take it. I came back after entering some shops and it was still there and she was back in her sitting position so I picked it up again.
Is she supposed to take the item has anyone seen this

I then tried again by dropping the armour right in front of her and all hell broke loose with vendors fighting each other with shouts of I saw it first, with knives flashing and everything. No one got killed but I have them all set to essential.

Various NPCs will react to dropped objects, the reactions include taking the object, scolding you for littering, taking the object and returning it to you, asking if they can have it. The fact that she didn't take it is a very minor bug.

Experiment with different bows and arrows. I can get Jenassa to use a Glass bow and Glass arrows. If she runs out of arrows she reverts to her standard bow. Since I rarely have enough Glass arrows for her, I give her a large stack of Iron arrows.

Also keep in mind that the follower is oblivious to your Smithing upgrades. The follower only looks at the base damage of the equipment to decide which is better.

Cure Hert’s vampirism

Walk up to Hert and press the ~ key at the top left of your keyboard to open the Console.

Click her, then type the commands listed below.

Or you can copy and paste the code into Notepad.

Scripts must be in the same folder as TESV.exe

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim

To execute a script type the following command into the Console:

BAT scriptname

where scriptname = the name of the script file

Example: Bat VampireCureHert

How to Cure a Player or NPC with Vampirism

Choose a RaceCode. Don't execute this command if you want them to continue looking like a Vampire (or you could execute this code just to change how Hert appears and NOT cure her).

Then you need to run all of this code, which is why it is suggested to do it in Notepad.
