In Sky Force 2014, one can get new planes by watching 30-second advertisements, at least on Android. One day I seemed to have reached some limit, as the screenshot below shows. Is this limit the same every day?

Unfortunately, Google doesn't allow free apps to turn into paid apps in the Play Store, so after the 24 hours were up, the promo version got pulled from the store and therefore won’t receive any updates. You can still opt for the paid version or use the demo version afterwards if you want to see the updates to the app.
So basically the app you have is the same game but the initial version of it.
No, actually there isn't a way to see these stats or even if the upgrades consists of percentages, they might consist of points, we just don't know.

Health: 5 Levels (So the 50 upgrades)
Main Cannon: 4 Levels (40 upgrades)
Wing Cannons: 5 Levels (50 upgrades)
Magnet: 4 Levels (40 upgrades)
Missiles: 5 Levels (50 upgrades)
I'm not a 100%, but you have to remember this is always changing as they keep expanding the game.

Yes, I can confirm you can only do this so many times per day, and it's the same number of times per day. No way to get around it, this limit is embedded in the script itself not by their servers.
I think it's to avoid abuse of the system.
