Minecraft [1.11.2]: Structure block won’t change it block state /setblock

So I tried to spawn a structure block with load mode using this command:

/setblock ~ ~ ~ minecraft:structure_block mode=load

and it worked. But not like I expected.
It spawned a structure block without load mode, but with data mode.

Am I doing something wrong? Please help

Structure blocks store their mode in both NBT data and as a block state, but only the NBT data will decide its mode when setting it:

/setblock ~ ~ ~ structure_block 0 replace {mode:"LOAD"}

In Minecraft, an exact integer coordinate (like 10, 64, -5) is actually on the corner between 8 different blocks. A center of a block is at 10.5, 64.5, -4.5.

When using a command such as /fill or /setblock, if a whole number is given, Minecraft automatically adds 0.5 to all of the numbers. This is because blocks must be aligned to the grid properly, so it must assume that when a user says "10" they have actually just truncated "10.5"

By the way, unless you have a mod changing this, the syntax for /setblock has no player selectors. You can, however, use /execute, along with [name=], to accomplish this:

/execute @p[r=10,name=<username>] ~ ~ ~ setblock ~ ~10 ~ minecraft:dirt
