I'm trying to make a redstone signal out of a command block when a player is in the radius of 3, so I made a commandblock with the text: testfor @a[r=3].
A redstone clock is bound to it, and gives it a new one every second.
Now for some reason when I am in the radius, it won't give a signal. Can anyone help?

When using coordinates, you need to specify a radius so that it knows how far to search from that specific point. Try changing your command to:
/testfor @a[x=-611,y=80,z=714,r=1]
You can also compact it down into:
/testfor @a[-611,80,714,1]
I believe that the reason is that without a radius the selector makes no sense, so it is simply ignored and tests for @a.
Use this wireless redstone setup (Our door is at -90 102 159):
Command block left: /setblock -89 102 159 air
Command block right: /setblock -89 102 159 redstone_torch
The pig is just an ordinary pig.
You can easily use more command blocks for more doors.

Had just the same problem but did some testing on it! it seems that the old stupid north south east west bug still apply to this! I simply switched sides that I had my comparator hooked up to and it worked!
