Minecraft – Tracking Kills/Deaths in Minecraft Bedrock

Since Bedrock only has dummy scoreboards, I'm trying to use command blocks to update the scoreboard.
Is there a way to use /testfor or another command to look for stats like Death? are stats even recorded in bedrock?
Has anyone come up with a good way to track kills and/or deaths on bedrock without using TP or spawn points?

Without using janky spawn point or weird item drop pickup systems, you cannot detect kills or deaths. Keep in mind that spawn points are not a bad detection system, though. Related Thread Worth Checking Out

As MrLemon has pointed out in the comments, there is an error in your fourth step, where the command is:

effect @a[score_nightVision_min:1] 16 30 0 true

You have to replace the colon ( : ) with an equals sign ( = ) for that part to work.

Minecraft – Give player item(s) when player hits X amount of deaths

Your first command is fine if you are changing it as you say.

The problem appears to be that you have a space between the selector (@a) and the selector arguments ([score_Deaths_min=1]), when there shouldn't be one. Try this command instead:

/give @a[score_Deaths_min=1] iron_sword
