I recently built a box to breed villagers in. It is a 13×13 area with 12 beds. I noticed that when I went to check on them 1 adult villager and 2 baby villagers were missing. Does anyone know what could have happened? There is no way for them to escape or for zombies to get in. (I play on 1.14 pocket edition).
There are many types of villagers. Here are some of them:
Farmers

These villagers wear the usual brown robe and will occasionally farm the crops in the village. They have an inventory and can collect the crops they harvest.
Librarians
These villagers wear white robes and live in houses will bookshelves and are wiling to trade books.
Priests 
The Priest villager lives in the tall cobblestone tower, and wears a nice purple robe.
Blacksmith
Oh! These are the ones people always hope for! If you see one in a village, there will be a Smithy in the village. There is lava, furnaces and a bonus chest in there that contains nice stuff. He wears a black apron.
Butcher 
Wearing a white apron, these butchers can sell leather at times.
Other Stuff
Lastly, there are baby villagers, which can be obtained by breeding villagers, zombie villagers, which can be turned back into a normal villager. When a villager is struck by lightning, it becomes a Witch, similar to the Charged Creeper.
You can make them attempt to throw it at another villager. Do this by trapping a villager (Preferably not a farmer) in a glass cell. Dig a one block wide trench all around the cell. Place a hopper two blocks out from the center of the cell and level with the ground.1 Then, link up the hopper to a chest and wait. Also, punch a 1 block hole at head level so that any villagers attempting to throw their crops see the trapped villager.

Unfortunately the pocket edition is notorious for friendly NPCs and pets disappearing when spawned by the player. It used to be an issue with my dog Nigel and his pups in the game.
Frequent visits apparently help, but sometimes it simply isn’t worth the watch in the pocket editions. :/
