I have downloaded a map recently, I did all the steps, but it won't show up in the single player section. I double checked everything, also the resources packs.

Use NBTExplorer to open level.dat of the world, then change GameRules/doFireTick from true to false.
This is probably a case of chunk corruption. There is way away to fix the chunk, but BE WARNED!! This shall delete your builds.
- Go into MCEdit (IF you don't have MCEdit, download it and open your world)
- Select said chunk
- Delete it.
- Restart your game.
If you just want to get rid of mobs, you can select a chunk within MCEdit and there is a "delete mobs" button somewhere or "delete entities," something among those lines.

Your map is
.rarand must be extracted. When extracted, all of these kind of files in a folder must be required:There should be a
level.datfile. Which is important. Cut the foder and paste it to the saves folder. Be noticed that your map doesn't shows at the top of your singleplayer section, so find the map and play it.
