I have used the NESBox Emulator with my dumped Pokemon Emerald .gba and I have used the "Save state" button. I have played a lot on NESBox and now that I would like to use VirtualBoy Advance I cannot load NESBox save file (.save) that I saved my data to, because it errors with "Unrecognized Gave Version".
Does anyone here know how to convert NESBox state files (.save) to VirtualBoy Advance-compatible Save files (.sgm)?
The issue here is that Virtual Boy Advance likes to format it's .sav's differently than things like no$gba and RIN (Which I have on PSP, so I'll be using that as reference, they shouldn't be too different).
Virtual Boy Advance has an option in the "File" drop-down menu called "Import." If you're taking the actual save data, you'll select "Battery file" from the "Import" sub-menu. If you're trying to get a save state, load the state from file in the the "Load State" sub-menu of "File."
If it can't convert the RIN file, try doing an export in RIN, and if that isn't an option, I think that no$gba would be able to convert the RIN file into something VBA could read, or you could just use no$gba, though I definitely prefer VBA.
Check the emulator settings. You most likely have a different save type, you should try to change that and reload the game. If you don't know your old savetype, you'll need to try.

Unfortunately, neither the Flash version on the NESBox website nor the Microsoft Store app have saving functionality aside from the save state feature. There is no way to convert a NESBox save state to a save state for any other emulator, because the format and data is specific to the emulator.
