I'm doing some design work on my Pokémon fan-game, and I was just wondering if there was anything at all that could be considered an official flag or other insignia that could be used to identify each of the regions in the Pokémon games?

The stats for a Pokémon are based on:
- The base stats
- The IV for a Pokémon (depends on the one you caught)
- The EVs gained while training a Pokémon (depends which types of Pokémon you battle)
- The nature of a Pokémon
The relevant formulas are:

As you can see, nowhere is there any mention of having a gym badge in these formulas.
The theory as to why the game tells you there is a stat boost that, in my opinion, holds the most ground, is that the EVs you get from battling the gym leader's Pokémon match the stat that they tell you gets raised.
Each unique Pokémon sprite has exactly one normal palette and one shiny palette. However, some Pokémon have more than one possible sprite, due to gender, variants, or alternate formes. Each of those can have a different shiny palette.
For example:
- Frillish♂ is blue, but Frillish♀ is pink. Shiny Frillish♂ is teal, while shiny Frillish♀ is salmon pink.
- Basculin can appear as red-striped or blue-striped. Shiny red-striped Basculin has an orange stripe, while shiny blue-striped Basculin has a light blue stripe.
- Shellos found in west Sinnoh are pink, but Shellos found in east Sinnoh are blue. Shiny Shellos are salmon pink in west Sinnoh, and cyan in east Sinnoh.
Generally speaking, if a Pokémon can be found in multiple different colours, its shinies will have different colours from each other.
Further, some shiny Pokémon's evolved forms have very different colour schemes, even if the original Pokémon all had the same colour.
- Shiny Charmander and Charmeleon are yellow, but shiny Charizard is black. (A shiny Charmander will always hatch yellow, and when it evolves to Charizard will always turn black.)
- Shiny Magikarp is gold, but shiny Gyarados is red.

There are no official insignias, flags, or logos for each region. The closest representation I was able to find was either the badge collections for each region, or map artwork. There are lots of other options for things you can do to uniquely represent each region, however, including referring to them by name, by their Kanji, or by League Trophies (though Hoenn and Sinoh are very similar, and Kalos doesn't have one yet). There are also a number of different fan created variations on what flags might look like all over the web, including some inspired by the real life regions the maps are from, which may work as well.
