Ever since the release of Pokémon Go, I have only been able to find and hatch Pokémon from Generation I.
How do I obtain the newly released Generation II Pokémon, and which Pokémon am I able to collect?

In the Pokédex overview you see the real pictures, non-colored pictures and numbers. The numbers are not seen at all, the colored pictures are caught, and the non-colored Pokémon are only seen. For example, Exeggcute (#102) is only seen.
All first evolution stage pokemon except for legendaries can appear. This is spread throughout the eggs as follows:
You cannot get any further evolution stages of pokemon from an egg, nor can you get a legendary from an egg.
These distances were minimum distances at the start, however, that appears to have been fixed
