I am absolutely new to FIFA and it is my first multiplayer title for PS4.
I want to play local multiplayer but I don't know how to start it or get there.
I started a career and saw the screen where I can choose the side for each controller – I only see one controller there. I can switch using the 2nd by pressing its PS button but how to play with 2 players?
So did I something wrong or should I choose another mode?
It's definitely possible to turn off your PS4 from your Vita using Remote Play. Instead of holding down the Vita's PS button, you have to press it. When the overlay pops up, you have to hold your finger on the on-screen PS button labeled "PS4 System". This button acts as the PS button on a controller (instead of the Vita's PS button, go figure).
Once you've held your finger down on that icon for a full second, the usual PS4 quick menu is displayed and you can turn the PS4 off from there.
You can definitely have 4 players locally and play 2 vs 2 for example. I do this regularly with my friends :)
As for online, there are many options. For example in Online Seasons you can play with a "Guest", meaning you have a friend locally and the 2 of you play vs someone online.

You have to use a different "account" for each controller. You can use either a guest account or simply create a new local account for frequent guests (like good friends or family members). Local accounts are "offline" accounts and not tied to a PSN account and only work on that specific console.
