I don't like my ship name, but I can't seem to rename it. Is there somewhere in the inventory or journal?

I was just looking around trying to find out how to do this, and I found out how to do it by accident. When you're in your ship's inventory, if you look up to the top right there's an arrow in a box next to the ship's name. Just click it, it's that simple. I realize this thread is from last year but hopefully it still helps. If you didn't know there ya go!
When not on a planet (in space somewhere) you can select the "Upload All" (up arrow) in the bottom left of the screen.
If on a planet, the Discoveries screen shows your current system. Go up a menu from there (right-click on PC) to the Visited Systems screen, and you can use the Upload All button.
The only way I know of to start over is to delete your save file. That will reset the game. You could probably back up the save onto a USB storage device first, if you wanted, because there's no visible way to "switch" between saves.
On the PS4, go into your settings, then go to the menu item labeled "Application Saved Data Management", and then delete the data for No Man's Sky to reset.
