Steam – find pending Friend Invitations on Steam

One of the little cousins at our Christmas gatherings wanted to be friends on Steam. That's cool, but our first attempt at searching for his Steam username was a disaster, and we probably both wound up sending friend requests to total strangers.

This situation brought to light the "All Friends" page in the Steam web app.

Currently, I have two confirmed friends. And two friend invitations are still pending. The "All Friends" page says I have four friends. Clicking the "Manage Friends List" does not reveal anything extra.

Where can I view pending friend invitations?
Is there any way to manage them, or cancel the invitation?

(or must I forever live with several imaginary friends…)

You should be able to see pending invitations in the friends list window. This is a different and separate window from the main Steam client window. You can view it by using the Friends -> View Friend List menu option from the Steam client window or by right clicking either the Steam icon in the notification area or the Steam button in the task bar and selecting Friends.

You can cancel an invitation by right clicking on it and selecting Remove this Friend.

This must be done using the Steam desktop client. (This window is not available in the web app.)

If you go to the search page and click "advanced search", you can also filter for games under 15$, under 20$, and over 20$, in addition to the under 5$ and under 10$ categories.

Alternatively, you can just not search anything - that will display all games - and then sort according to price, by clicking the header of the "price" column. You can click it again to toggle between ascending or descending search.

Here's a direct link to page 5 of the descending link - where 30$ games start to appear - but as games are added and prices change constantly, the page in which 30$ games appear is bound to change.

Get your SteamID 64-bit

Method 1

Once logged click on your profile and add ?xml=1 to browser url address

http://steamcommunity.com/id/<yourname>/?xml=1 or http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/<yourprofilenumber>/?xml=1 (if you have not set a public username yet)

Method 2

Open this file <Steam Installation Path>\config\loginusers.vdf in notepad.

You'll receive a long XML file but you can look at tag at the beggining. It contains your 64-bit SteamID.

Get your SteamID 32-bit

Using a simple formula you can also build your Steam 32-bit ID similar to STEAM_X:Y:Z (e.g. STEAM_1:0:12345678) starting from Steam 64-bit ID

Z = (SteamID64 - 76561197960265728)  / 2
Y = SteamID64 % 2
X = 1 if profile is public / 0 if profile is private
