I want to get ESEA, but unforunately I signed up for it a while ago with my email address and steam account. It looks like you can only log in with your accounts Alias, and I cannot remember mine. I've tried searching for accounts with my old names and can't find a thing either.
When I try to sign up with a new email, it says my steam account is in use. How do I de-activate my ESEA account with my steam account?

According to this, there is currently no way for the user themselves to unlink an account on Steam. It seems the account gets linked to your steam id, so that is why removing local content or re-downloading doesn't help address the issue.
Seems the friendly guys at Carbon Games will help you unlink an account.
Try emailing support@carbongames.com with your steam id and account names and they should be able to unlink the wrong account and link the right account for you.
Your steam id can be easily retrieved using this website: http://steamidconverter.com/ Put in your custom url of your steam account (in my case it is lyrical) and it will return your steam id.

Startup folder to open Steam to the right account when you log in.What you would want to do is open your Start Menu. There should be a folder called Startup.
Every time you log in, Windows will automatically start all the programs in this folder. So, we can put a Steam shortcut with the %u and %p command-line options.
This presumes your Steam executable is in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe
You'll have to repeat these steps for every account you want to do this to.

You'll have to manually stop the Steam process.

I'm at work right now, I'll try to come up with something up when I get home. (And can test it properly on my own Steam install, I wouldn't want to accidently run it as Admin and open a whole new can of worms.) -- For clarification: The script should kill your husband's Steam and run it with the %u %p command for you?
Instead of creating a shortcut in the "Startup" folder, you could create a batch (.bat) script that kills Steam and reopens it.

.bat scripts can be edited using notepad.
(Right click the .bat file and go to Open With... > Notepad)
Say 'OK' to any prompts that come up. It should then open in notepad, or any text editor you have chosen.
Save your batch file in the same folder as the shortcut. You may remove the shortcut if you need.

I would first recommend trying to reset your password and see if it includes an alias. Personalised emails may include it in the header or the subject line.
If that does not work, there does not seem to be an obvious way to recover an alias, so I would suggest shooting a ticket to their support team. You probably should include your steam id, which you could do, for example, here. They may be able to help you further.
I doubt they would be able to disassociate your ESEA account from your Steam account, because it would open the door for cheaters to just create a new ESEA account when they are caught, invalidating any ban ESEA could provide.
