Steam – invite friends to Steam

I basically want to invite a friend to steam, so that they will download it and play a certain game with me. Does steam have this sort of feature? It's essentially a personalized share.

Alternatively, since the game isn't super expensive, I would be willing to gift it to them, which I think you can do to an email address (not necessarily linked to an account).

There is currently no feature to allow you to invite a friend to Steam as such. The closest thing I can think of is either to:

Gift them a game

If you have a game in your Steam inventory, you can gift that to an email address that is not already on Steam.

This will send them an email with an invite to Steam and all the instructions they will need.

Do it manually

Navigate to https://store.steampowered.com/join/
Fill in your details and click CREATE MY ACCOUNT
Get them to download the Steam client.
Send them to your Steam profile page, "http://steamcommunity.com/id/{Your ID or Username}/".
Tell them to send you a friend request and then you can accept it.
Tell them to download your chosen game.

If you remove those, it should be gone. The problem is, that need to adjust the rest of the file for the removed lines. So it is really not a simple task of removing them. I had some success by testing it real quick, but I also got some weird glitches on the chat window.

Also, when Steam updates, it will be back, so it is better get into skin creation and make a skin that does not contain it.

The "restrictions" you're saying you've got on your account do not match up with what Steam call a "limited account" - it is probably worth contacting Steam support to discuss the issues you're having with the Steam store.

There are four methods of earning Snow Globe cards:

Vote in the "Community's Choice" sale every 8 hours, for every three times you vote you get one card (that's one free card per day)
Buying games/software from Steam: for every $10 you spend on Steam you get a Snow Globe card
Trading with other players on the Steam market
Crafting other badges will result in a Snow Globe card for each badge crafted

One thing to note is that getting Snow Globes by voting for the "Community's Choice" sale requires that you be level 5 already.
