On the Steam badges, at the bottom it says "For having at least one product registered" but there's no "View Details" or anything to click on. It's greyed out, which sounds like I don't have this badge.
What is this badge and how can I make sure I have it? Most badges aren't retroactive I've found.
You haven't uploaded the screenshot yet, so it won't be on your profile. in Steam's main menu, click on "View" -> "Screenshots".
You can then pick the game to show at the top, and that will show all the screenshots you've ever made in that game, uploaded or not.
The Witcher is simply put a horrible "port" that doesn't deserve the name "port".

Now to get technical: The Steam Overlay for Mac is simply a slightly modified and recompiled version of the Windows Overlay. The Overlay tries to detect whether to use a DirectX hook or an OpenGL hook (since both coexist on Windows). The Overlay in this case chooses DirectX, will properly inject but then rely on Windows APIs which are obviously not available, leading to a malfunctioning overlay.
Since you can't tell the overlay what API to hook (Valves detection algorithm does that), this is an issue without a solution you can apply. Whoever ported the game, should take responsibility for this mess and clean it up.

Steam has a two-tiered system for user accounts.
An account that is just registered, but doesn't have a paid product on it is considered a Limited User Account and has some restrictions placed on it - mostly community-related. This is for security reasons.
