Halcyon 6 in the Humble Store says the following:
Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander is provided via Steam key for Windows and Mac.
However, Halcyon 6 in the Steam store claims it supports linux.
If I buy a key through the Humble Store and activate it on Steam, will I be able to play it on Linux?
I assume there is just one kind of key, and as long as the Steam version supports Linux I should be fine, but the discrepancy makes me unsure.

On your download page, you can optionally get a key to redeem your Humble Bundle #2 games (first shelf) on Steam and / or Desura. Not all of the games are on Steam yet: Cortex Command and Revenge of the Titans will automatically be added to your library once they make their Steam debut.

Extra copies are not given in most cases.
Only titles purchased in special promotions as outlined below are eligible for giftable extra copies
There has also been some discussion in gaming chat about the ethics of giving away extra humble bundle keys, as the site says the keys are for your sole use.
The original discussion was here. Ullallulloo emailed Humble Bundle support and asked for us. He posted the reply in chat here. Here's what it said:
"Our Steam keys do not generate giftable copies on Steam. Please consider your bundle a "unit" and not to share copies of the games or Steam keys from it.
If you'd like to give a copy of the games away, we have a system in place that allows you to buy a gift key from www.humblebundle.com so your friends can have access to direct downloads as well as any Steam or other keys we have included.

As long as you get the steam key and the steam store page states that it supports steam for Linux, you should be fine.
