While wandering around the library, I came across this room that I hadn't seen before (or at least have no memory of seeing). Is there any significance to this room?
It seems like all of the statues are bosses or characters in the game, but since some are gold and silver, it doesn't seem like these are just from beating each boss. Plus, it's at the end of the game so it'd be impossible not to have beaten all of the bosses at this point.
Aside from analyzing the BGM and looking cool, the HUD Sound Waves chip serves one other purpose. According to posts like the one in this thread, it helps you find a specific Pod in the desert:
There's an item in the desert (pod C) that emits a high-pitched sound when you're close to it so it's easier to find. The sound display detects this noise, giving a hint to people who can't hear it (or hear poorly in general, or people like me who thought my speakers were dying instead of thinking it was an actual game sound).

I believe it's meant to help those who have a handicap with their hearing.
There is an thing (a pod) in the desert that can be found through a sound it makes. Not everyone can hear it.
If you've already found this Pod or are confident in your hearing abilities, there appears to be no other purpose to this chip other than being a BGM analyzer.
Ah, the big choice.
Since the ending sequence is nigh impossible without accepting help (this is clearly intentional, as the entire point is that you can't take on enormous tasks alone), you accepted it, right? Every person that assisted you was actually someone who chose to erase all of their save data for this purpose. Had you chose to delete your save, someone out there who needed help on the ending sequence would have gotten assistance from you.
I originally declined in order to 100% the game, but as soon as I had done so, I went back and redid this sequence so that I, too,
could erase all save data in order to assist someone else.
If you choose yes, you will actually be prompted for confirmation about 7 or 8 times before it actually happens.
During the sequence directly following, it will show all of your data being deleted, one item at a time (though many are skipped over so this doesn't take an eternity). The very last part shows all of your save slots being erased. This means you cannot simply copy your save data to a second save data slot. All three are erased entirely. The only record of you having played the game and made this choice is that you will get an alternate background for the title screen. It looks like this:

After doing some research, it appears that this is a reference to the original NIER, as the entire library is a replica of Devola and Popola's library from that game. From this thread:
This trophy room is another feature of the original NIER, in which trophies representing all of the defeated bosses were displayed. This room is identical, except the bosses displayed are from NieR: Automata, rather than the original NIER. An image of the original NIER's trophy room can be seen on the wiki page:
