Trying to reset Dawnguard in Skyrim

After I beat the Dawnguard questline, I decided to try and uninstall the DLC from my console's hard drive to try and reset the storyline. After I uninstalled the DLC from my console and downloaded it again, and then loaded up my save, I was still at the end of the storyline for Dawnguard and nothing had changed. Please help!

The only way to replay the DLC on a Console is to make a new character.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the DLC does not help with the issue, but might lead to a corrupt save if you try to load it without the DLC installed.

Many parts of the Dawnguard questline outright require Serana as your follower, and several of those quests are able to add her as your follower, even though you already have one.

The list of bugs associated with Serana is rather large. She's the single most complex NPC in the entire game, with an entire hidden quest (called DLC1NPCMentalModel)acting under the hood to control her behavior, her dialog, etc., independent of the stuff that goes on as part of the actual quests.

It is incredibly likely that you have encountered a bug whereby the hidden quest got in an odd state, and didn't properly notice that she should have left after one of the forced-follower points. In that case, you may not even be able to get rid of her as a follower without resorting to console commands (and those only work if you're on the PC).

How to remarry after resetting Dawnguard DLC

It is possible to remarry if you use the console as it is explained here: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Marriage

Select spouse. Enter the following console commands:

removefac 51596
player.removefac C6472
resetquest 74793
resetquest 21382
setstage 74793 10

This should make you able to marry again after 24h (whether you've installed Dawnguard or not)
