After a couple of hours exploring, I discovered a few Star Systems and a multitude of planets. I uploaded a lot of the data, but I had forgotten to rename my discoveries before I uploaded all of my data.
I know how to rename before uploading data, but is there a way to rename after uploading data?
One possibility is to use the scan for discoveries from the galactic map.
In the 1.03 version of the game on consoles this is d-pad up and on Windows tab is bugged, but trying x could work.
After I had jumped to several star systems away, I used this feature and found my already discovered systems.
This enabled me to locate where I had been and allowed me to warp back.

Go to the Menu, Discoveries.
When not on a planet (in space somewhere) you can select the "Upload All" (up arrow) in the bottom left of the screen.
If on a planet, the Discoveries screen shows your current system. Go up a menu from there (right-click on PC) to the Visited Systems screen, and you can use the Upload All button.

I was able to go back to the previous save after making a typo and rename and upload an animal again.
