I got so fed up with my low carry rate that I modified it via the console. Now the next zone I enter, I get a block-like drawing error on the loading screen. Then I notice a few more little quirks that I've never seen shortly thereafter.
Are there known side effects to using the console?
The duration for effects are all measured in clock time1. The game time, by default, is set to a scale of 20, so 1 minute in real time is equivalent to 20 minutes in game time.
This other question explains exactly what actions freeze the game time.
1Waiting and fast travel, despite not advancing much clock time, does count against the durations.

These are quests that belong to no faction, and are not part of the main quest line, but are more involved than a 'miscellaneous' or 'radiant' quest (go kill 10 bandits in a dungeon, or fetch me a book, etc.)

I don't think player related console command would cause any graphical issues, unless you entered a wrong command by mistake, or just randomly encountered another bug right after using your console cheat.
