When you enter the huge monitor room, run up the chair, onto the desk, and walk over the railing to fall down into the pit. Nothing happens once you land on the ground. There is one but nothing happened. Am I missing something here?

As you can see in this ending chart, hitting on only has one possible outcome - your death. There is no code to stop it.
It was the same way in the original mod. This also fits in with the game's theme of breaking the rules of traditional games.
I'm not so sure that's the ending.
The schedule says that after the restart, the player is supposed to find the yellow line again, but be unable to play (paraphrasing here).
After seeing the schedule, I've found the yellow line, but I can't get to it.
After seeing the schedule, the narrator restarts the game. Head through the "door on the right". On your right There is an office with a window and no marking on the door. Through that window you can see the yellow line starting (or ending?) in that office. If you look into the office anytime before seeing the Confusion Ending Schedule, the yellow line is not there. The door to the office is locked.

You are not supposed to be able to jump over the railing like that; it is simply a bug. Nothing happens because the developer never anticipated that possibility.
