The problem is that overkill haven't sorted out the connection problems with the game. Its not that people aren't trying to join you its the fact that every time someone try's it just comes up with connection errors, failed to join. Overkill are supposed to be worked on a patch but that was over a week ago.

Yes, you can. Simply go into a game, have three controllers on, and decide which players are going to be on which team when it displays the screen to decide which controller plays which side. Have a 2-on-1 game or have all three on the same team. The same can be done with four players, as well.
