[SalesForce] Best way to support Language Translation on Record level

As we all know that mostly the language translations in salesforce are supported on metadata components like fields, labels, picklist values etc.. Is there any way to support Language translation on record level ? Atleast I dont see that option via Translation workbench. I have a requirement of a custom object with around 4000 records in 12 different languages.. the only best option i can think of today is to have a separate custom object which stores this translation as well..

Dont want to move away from OOTB translations but looks like no option..

Any thouhgts ?

@Charles : Yes, I had gone ahead with the custom object option as there was not any room of making API calls just for translations. But did create per column for every language. in my case there were 12, so having 12 more columns on an object was better..sicne overall, record consumption would still be 2kb/record

[SalesForce] Translation Workbench Override Managed Package Custom Field Label

Managed package field label override is done by Translation workbench. It's not custom labels.

For deployment to other sandbox org, we followed the following step

Go to Setup>Translation Workbench>Export
Choose option "Bilingual"

The exported file contained two section# TRANSLATED and UNTRANSLATED. Manually deleted the UNTRANSLATED section.

In other sandbox org, imported the translation file using Setup>Translation Workbench>Import

I wished this is supported by metadata or tooling api. Please post if you find other way of doing it.

In apex:page there is an attribute 'language' which you can set as the language of your choice/requirement to override the users language.

The language used to display labels that have associated translations in Salesforce. This value overrides the language of the user viewing the page. Possible values for this attribute include any language keys for languages supported by Salesforce, for example, "en" or "en-US".

From documentation seems it should be possible. I haven't tried it out though.
