[SalesForce] Convert the lead created in a screen flow to an opportunity automatically

I have lightning flow which creates a new Lead record. Now my requirement is that, as soon as my lead gets created its has to be automatically converted to an opportunity.

I understand, that I can embed a lightning component and call a controller code to perform this. But my question is that is there any way to implement this without the use of code and just by the flow itself?

When a lead is converted to a contact and opportunity there are several different things that happen. Info Here When you use flow automation, you miss out on some of the more technical parts of it.

Depending on your requirements, it might be fine to create the flow automation that create the records you need and doesn't do some of the more technical things. This is what I've done for years.

I only started using apex when I needed to sync my contacts and leads with Pardot, because they really want your lead to be converted when you create a contact, since the Pardot prospects can only sync with one sf record.

Leads have hidden fields to represent the Account/Contact/Opportunity records they were converted into. Your Lead report is most likely using these fields only. Because of this, other Opportunities added would not show up. You most likely need to create a new Opportunity report.

There is no way you can stop Account creation on Lead conversion. The whole point of lead conversion to create Account so as to ensure business is taking place with the customer. However, you can stop Opportunity creation. You can either create new Account on lead conversion or merge with an existing account. The steps to convert lead using apex is:

1. Instantiate LeadConvert class.
   Database.LeadConvert dl = new Database.LeadConvert();
2. There are some methods that need to be called out. Like:
   dl.setLeadId('Id of your lead');
   dl.setDoNotCreateOpportunity(Boolean);
   dl.setOwnerId(ID);
   dl.setAccountId(ID);//If you wanna merge lead with an existing account
3. Lastly you need to pass this instance to convertLead method:
   Database.LeadConvertResult result = Database.convertLead(dl);

Important Points:

You can leverage this lead conversion technique in trigger or apex class.
Always keep the code bulkified because convertLead() method count against your DML statements. Hence, it's better to pass a list of LeadConvert class into this method.
