Two avocadoes may look the same size from the outside, but the one with a smaller seed will have more flesh and may thus be more desirable. So how do I tell which avocadoes have smaller seeds?
(Another fruit I can think of where the seed size can fluctuate significantly is the durian. Perhaps the trick for avocadoes and durians is similar.)
Fennel and caraway are relatives, but not the same plant. Fennel seeds have a flavor dominated by anise/licorice, where caraway is quite different, being dominated by other flavors. They also have subtle differences in appearance.
Cumin, anise, and dill are other look-alike seeds with very different flavors. Anise and fennel have very similar flavors, and can be substituted for each other. Caraway and dill are likewise similar in flavor. Cumin has a flavor different from any of the above. I am including pictures of fennel, caraway, anise, cumin, and dill seeds so you can see how similar they are, but also how there are subtle differences in shape.

My first reaction was to think that grapefruit seeds have cyanide, don't they? Nope, that's apples, apricots and peaches.
I did find an application you might find interesting: Grapefruit Seed Extract
Self-made pure GSE processed without solvents is prepared by grinding the grapefruit seed and juiceless pulp, then mixing with glycerin.
A few sites suggest that it's not quite that simple, but a Google Search for "grapefruit seed extract homemade" will give you quite a bit of reading material.

You must remember that studies have shown that a normal avocado will have between 60% to 70% flesh. According to this Mental Masala blog post
So, it presents that across a test group of 19 avocados, there exists a linear growth pattern. Therefore, you could say that you can go to a grocery store and pick out any random avocado and it will very likely have a 15:15:70 ratio of seed:skin:flesh. Now, there could be the odd outlier with 1:1:99 or something, but that would be rare.
