Learn English – Word for “taking advantage of a second chance or opportunity”

I am not sure if there exists a word meaning exactly "a road vanishing in the distance".

Perspective in the context of vision and visual perception, is the way in which objects appear to the eye based on their spatial attributes. In particular, perspective allows for long object to appear to vanish at some point, the vanishing point, which lies on a line called the horizon.

In those circumstances, I might feel wistful:

Full of melancholy longing or wishful yearning; characterized by a pensive longing or yearning._(TFD)

or dejected:

Being in low spirits; depressed; cast down in spirits; disheartened _(TFD/MW)

Consider, also, melancholy:

a sad thoughtful state of mind; sadness or depression of the spirits; gloom; pensive reflection or contemplation. _(TFD)

demoralised, disheartened,despairing, desperate, wretched, forlorn, pessimistic, defeatist, resigned, etc. It really depends on exactly how you do feel.
