I have just started playing and am lost because i do not have a mini map. I tried the B key however, it does not show. B is the only command bound to it. I have tried rebinding the key and it does not complain about a conflict with another binding.
I can see the map with the M key but would like the mini map. How can I fix this?
As far as I understand it, your Field Upgrade score is measured by your squads effectiveness with working together - attacking an objective works towards this, as well as reviving team-mates, etc. If you die your score drops beneath the level needed for the current Field Upgrade you'll see that message. As for if you can see it, for your actual score, I don't know. For the progress to the next Field Upgrade, it's the bar highlighted below (sorry for small size):
The description is very misleading.
When you get a headshot that's over 50 meters, you get a Marksman score bonus (1 point per meter). If you accumulate 250 Makrsman bonus points in a round, you get 1 Marksman ribbon.
Example: If you make 5 x 50 meter headshots, you get 1 Marksman ribbon, or 2 x 125 meter headshot.
Every weapon counts.

Some servers, especially those using hardcore mode, can choose to disable the minimap. If the server chooses to hide it, you cannot enable it. You can search for minimap enabled servers using the advanced filters:
